Connor DeFanti is a Numerati® Partners LLC affiliated expert, and a recent Ph.D. graduate from the Computer Science department at Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University, New York University. His research focuses on virtual, augmented, and mixed reality solutions, primarily regarding their social aspects. This research has included systems design for shared virtual reality experiences, understanding social interactions in virtual reality, and envisioning the future of these systems. Connor is particularly interested in investigating how the new generation of virtual reality hardware can improve the fields of education and games.
Prior to working in virtual reality, Connor DeFanti studied mathematics and computer graphics, graduating from California Institute of Technology (Caltech) with a Bachelor’s degree. He has had the privilege of working with graphics pioneers such as Al Barr, Lance Williams, and Ken Perlin.
