Samantha Kappagoda was a Speaker on AI at NYU PCCE Spring Conference
Samantha Kappagoda, Chief Data Scientist of Numerati® Partners and Independent Director of the Credit Suisse Funds, was invited to speak at the NYU Law PCCE Conference Managing Effective Ethics and Compliance Programs in a Changing Regulatory Landscape on April 11, 2025.
Samantha participated in a panel titled Practical Risk Management Steps in the Development and Use of AI, which was moderated by Joseph Facciponti, Executive Director of PCCE. Samantha’s fellow panelists were the following:
- Matt Galvin, Former Counsel, Compliance and Data Analytics, DOJ Criminal Fraud Section and former Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer of AB InBev; Professor, Sorbonne Law School, Co-Founder Integrity Distributed

Samantha previously participated in the NYU Law PCCE Directors’ Academy in 2024 and 2023, speaking on the panel AI: Opportunities and Potential Risks.

Samantha Kappagoda currently serves as an Independent Director / Trustee, Nominating Committee Chair and Audit Committee Member of Credit Suisse Funds, which are comprised of closed-end funds (NYSE: DHY and CIK) and open-end funds investing in commodity, high yield and credit strategies. She is also Chief Data Scientist and Co-Managing Member of Numerati Partners LLC, Visiting Scholar at Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences NYU, advising research activities at RiskEcon® Lab for Decision Metrics @ Courant Institute, and a Member of the Business Board of the Governing Council at the University of Toronto.
