Samantha Kappagoda, Chief Data Scientist of Numerati® Partners and Independent Director / Trustee of Credit Suisse Funds, was invited to speak at the WomenExecs on Boards (WEoB) and DCRO Institute Risk Summit – The Age of Strategy Disruption: How Boards Can Navigate Turbulent Times, hosted by Baker McKenzie on October 15, 2024 in New York City.
Samantha participated in a panel entitled AI and Emerging Technologies – The Impact on Strategic Planning Cycles. The panel was moderated by Curtis Stephens, Board Member of Carter Bankshares, and her fellow panelists were Jessica Poliner, President and CEO of relayr, and Sondra Radcliffe, General Manager at 3Shape.

The DCRO Risk Governance Institute is a non-profit collaborative educational initiative that provides risk governance expertise to the boardroom and C-level executives. DCRO was formed in 2008 as a collaborative effort to focus on the top-level governance of risk in practice, and is comprised of leading board members, chief risk officers, and other C-level officers whose jobs include a fiduciary responsibility for governance and risk management.

Samantha Kappagoda currently serves as an Independent Director / Trustee, Nominating Committee Chair and Audit Committee Member of Credit Suisse Funds, which are comprised of two closed-end funds (NYSE: DHY and CIK) and six open-end funds investing in commodity, quantitative and high yield and credit strategies, and a Member of the Business Board of the Governing Council at the University of Toronto. She is also Chief Data Scientist and Co-Managing Member of Numerati® Partners LLC, and Visiting Scholar at Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences NYU, advising research activities at RiskEcon® Lab for Decision Metrics @ Courant Institute.
