Samantha Kappagoda was a Speaker on AI in the Boardroom – What Independent Directors Should Know for Private Directors Association
Samantha Kappagoda, Chief Data Scientist of Numerati® Partners and Independent Director of Credit Suisse Funds, was invited to speak at the Private Directors Association (PDA) New York Metro Chapter’s AI in the Boardroom – What Independent Directors Should Know, held on April 30, 2024 at Wells Fargo in New York City.
The session was moderated by Adriana Rizzo, and Samantha was joined by co-panelists Susan Youngblood, Pouya Lavian, and Anne Mai Bertelsen. Samantha’s comments focused on challenges for board directors in assessing tradeoffs between potential benefits and corresponding risks of adopting AI and other emerging technologies.
Samantha Kappagoda is Chief Data Scientist and Co-Founder of Numerati Partners LLC, and Visiting Scholar at Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences NYU, advising research activities at RiskEcon® Lab for Decision Metrics @ Courant Institute. She also currently serves as an Independent Director / Trustee, Nominating Committee Chair and Audit Committee Member of Credit Suisse Funds, which are comprised of two closed-end funds (NYSE: DHY and CIK) and six open-end funds investing in commodity, quantitative and high yield and credit strategies.
